What I learned on Sesame Street today:

Apparently they've given new lyrics to "Do Your Ears Hang Low." I always knew the version:

Do your ears hang low?
Do they wobble to and fro?
Can you tie them in a knot?
Can you tie them in a bow?
Can you throw them over your shoulder
Like a continental soldier?
Do your ears hang low?

But in the version they were singing, the third-to-last and second-to-last lines were:

Do they go down to your toes?
Can you tie them round your nose?

O.o Go figure. Guess they think kids won't know what a continental soldier is (not like I did or anything).

Had leftover ratatouille for lunch. So yummy and 1 1/2 points. Squee. So I got to eat the roll I saved from Panera's yesterday ^_^

I believe the "continental soldier" has to do with the Revolutionary War and the fact that our guys were irregulars who carried bedrolls and such slung over their shoulders.

I also blame the preponderance of liberals in our schools for taking out the reference to soldier. I don't think it has anything to do with what the kids know or not, unless they're trying to prevent the kids from asking questions they can't answer...
