Solstice and Christmas pictures
Dec. 26th, 2013 09:38 pmWe've had a wonderful Solstice and Christmas season. It seemed to come upon us so fast, but we got organized quickly and I really feel like the gifts we gave and received were meaningful and a good use of our funds. Because I just got my new camera, a lot of the gifts I received were photography-related gear :3 And so I took TONS of pictures.
Sarah and Jenn sent us an incredibly thoughtful set of Glamourkins as a Solstice gift, wrapped in these gorgeous books. The sunlight was illuminating them beautifully one morning so I took a bunch of pictures.

More sparkling ornaments from that morning.

Then another night I took a bunch of pictures of our ornaments. We have a tiny tree this year, and it's really adorable and worked out perfectly.

On Christmas Eve, my parents came over to our house for dinner :3 I was showing my mum how my camera can take self-portraits. I look kind of squished in the face but it's a really nice picture of my mama!

There was a gorgeous cardinal outside my parents' house on Christmas morning! This was when Rachel, my knight in shining knitwear, drove back to our house because I forgot my vegetarian turkey cutlets XD

My mum made beautiful corn dollies for Mabon this year. They were set up on the windowsills and looked stunning in the sunlight.

Once Rachel got back and we finished opening our stockings and having breakfast, we move onto the presents! :D We didn't have that many but it took us all day to open them. We started late, and we went one at a time, admiring everyone's things, and Uncle Bill and Pollyann came up early in the afternoon, and we'd made a scavenger hunt for my dad… so it took a while XD
Take a look at the Flickr set for pictures chronicling the scavenger hunt XD
Cutest wife got many knitting needle-organizing doohickeys!

Cutest Mum got a Nook :D

Cutest Dad got several books by his current-favorite author! He burns through books like crazy whoa.

I may have bought Rachel some Supernatural-inspired insult magnets XD

Rachel and I got a lot of doll clothes (or I should say London and Elaine got a lot of clothes XD) and they're both looking pretty snazzy. London got new shirts and boots…

He also got a REALLY SEXY COAT.

Elaine got the CUTEST SWEATSHIRT EVER.

She got little sneaker-boots too :3 You can't see in this picture, but they're black with a pattern of neon hearts.

The three of them who came to Christmas morning with us <3

Rachel and I got some gorgeous marmalade.

I didn't take a lot of pictures of the things I got, but I got some crystal books, a camera bag, a monopod, a suet cage to feed the birds, a Welcome to Night Vale t-shirt, and lots of other lovely things <3
Check out the Flickr set for my parents' ornaments! Here are some highlights :)

And my cutest wifey, playing with her new iPad :3
