I came across this via Sarah Diemer's tumblr and I just had to share. I'm proud to be living in the same state as this veteran.

Mitt Romney Accidentally Confronts A Gay Veteran; Awesomeness Ensues

The site summarizes it pretty well: "Back in December 2011 during a campaign stop in New Hampshire, Mitt Romney decided to drop by Vietnam War veteran Bob Garon's breakfast table for a quick photo-op. What Romney didn't realize is that Garon was sitting with his husband, whom he had married just a few months earlier."

I think Bob Garon says it all: he was undecided about who to vote for, but when somebody tells you to your face "I don't think you deserve the same legal rights as other people," it tends to make you less inclined to vote them into office. I wonder if Romney would have tempered his flat-out "no" if he had known who he was talking to. Somehow I don't really think so :\

One of the things I like about this clip is the spontaneity of it.

Why Marriage Matters Maine has aired some commercials, such as this one, which I find very touching and totally appropriate, but I don't think they pack the emotional kick in the gut that this clip does.

I don't think so either. One of the most disturbing things about Romney is his complete inability to be open to change, or to consider that his stance on anything could be hurtful to anyone else. He simply doesn't care.

Yeah, and you're right, that's the really scary thing.

We voted today! It was vote-for-the-NH-governor day. Which I learned yesterday. Need to keep up with these things XD

You would think that a man who was governor of Massachusetts would know not to randomly sit down with a New England old-timer without knowing what to expect first. :)

I'll be interested in hearing how the debates between Hassan and Lamontagne go. Not that they will actually effect how I vote in the general election. ;)
