Apparently I really need to see the BBC's new modern-Holmes show Sherlock, because numerous people I respect have squeed over it already. And I have only seen the outside of cut tags, because I don't want to spoil myself even for details! I'll just have to find it online or wait until I can get a DVD of it :3

I'm SO glad they keep bringing out awesome new Holmes media that really respects the canon. According to my personal definition of respecting the canon. \o/

I have a .mp4 of it which I got from the BBC iplayer - I can stick it up on dakegra.net when I get back from Croydon tomorrow night. It's small, but perfect for ipod and watchable on computer.

lemme know if you need/want it. :-0

It was beautiful! If the others are as good as the first one then it might become my new "favourite thing ever!" XD

I hope you can find it on the interwebs, then you can squee along with us :D

I've been dragging my heels, specifically because I KNOW I'm going to completely, madly adore it like a mad adoring thing, and I'm not ready for a new obsession right this exact second :) But from what everybody says, it sounds AMAZING. I'm absolutely in love with the premise--the idea that you can actually make it MORE authentic by modernizing it, because it wasn't a period piece to the Victorians? AWESOME. Oh, Steven Moffat, such collision you've brought to my fandoms, you wonderful, wonderful man...

YES! Dude. I so feel the same way re: adoring and new obsession. And I have this weirdo inexplicable aversion to watching things on the computer.

I'm absolutely in love with the premise--the idea that you can actually make it MORE authentic by modernizing it, because it wasn't a period piece to the Victorians?

HOLY COW, you're smart! I never thought of this! XD But it's so TRUE! (That's a good argument for modern adaptations of Shakespeare, too...)

Oh gawd, I'm not that smart either. Not NEARLY XD Steven Moffat said it, in a promo piece, and that was the instant I was sold on this interpretation. And you're so right about Shakespeare! I never thought about THAT that way. So clearly the prize for the evening goes to you, m'dearie :)

You desperately need to find yourself a copy of this (got links to links if you need). Total fangasm.

I say we hire Steven Moffat to remake Raffles for us while he's at it. I mean, he's got a greater gay agenda than Russell T. Davies! ;)

Sorry, random comment. But Moffat doing Raffles? OH GOD YES PLEASE!!!

I think Steven Moffat should do a lot more TV writing, myself XD It would be so awesome to see a current Raffles adaptation!

You totally absolutely and unequivocably really do have to see it. Because I'm usually "meh" over tv adaptations of Holmes but this one make me squee. And think of you, becasue I know you will love it.

Aww, silly! Who else in the whole of the internets loves Holmes more than you do? And unusually, I haven't read one word of dissent about the general awesomeness of the show - you must see it!

My parents were squeeing over it when I visited this morning, and Dad rarely squees over something that is fiction, or not in Italian.
