Well, The Last Uniform is out of print in Japanese, so it doesn't look like I have any chance of getting my hands on it, unless I luck into finding a bookstore that has a stock of copies. Unlikely.
No scans either, as far as I've been able to find. My Japanese skillz aren't good enough to read Google searches in Japanese. There's apparently a song by the same name, and that's what gets most of the hits.
*sadface*
On the positive side, I figured out (remembered) how to get my laptop to type 日本語で and how to switch between alphabets.
Mostly I'm disappointed because The Last Uniform was the only yuri manga I've ever read that didn't treat the relationships exploitatively. There was no ass-grabbing. There was no "No! Stop! Don't! -- ohh, why do I feel this way? We're both girls!" There were no ginormous bouncing boobies. I have heard that Aoi Hana is a yuri series that treats GLBT issues sensitively, but it doesn't look like there are any plans to bring it out in English. I went to Barnes and Noble to look for manga yesterday, and I wanted something hyper-cute that wasn't high school romance but also wasn't written exclusively for the purpose of pantie shots. I didn't find anything like that except Lucky Star, and the manga is almost completely identical to the show, so I didn't want to spend my money on it when I already have the anime. I'm going to get
caitirin to Inter-Library Loan me some stuff so I can check it out without buying it.
My post-manga-disappointment yesterday did bring cupcakes and a really pretty smokey quartz bracelet made by a local artist, though, so I shouldn't complain :3
