Gwagh, Nano, what are you doing to me?!
My characters are boring and my plot is full of holes and WHINE.
Two of my characters have blinked out of existence, because they were so godawful boring that I couldn't face writing them anymore. I'm not terribly sad about this, except that I'm more familiar with their type's speech patterns than the characters I'm focusing on now. Oh well. *kicks out Browning and Carew*
Iskander is continuing to be a conundrum. And not an interesting one; just a hard one to write. Tell me what you're thinking, you intolerable pain of a man.
New character appeared! His name is Inspector Rouin and he's from Lancashire, and he is very good for Iskander. I enjoy him. However, when Iskander is not forthcoming, Rouin does not drag things out of him. He shall soon. I hope.
Anjali is far too awesome to be neglected in such ways as she is being. I've resolved to have her run off on her own and meet some people from Faerie.
Plot is plotty and confusing and I'm being made to think of ways to untangle the freakin' mystery while I'm writing, which results in contrivance and The Easiest Answer. With which I am unsatisfied. That is, of course, for editing, but it still makes me go grargh and not want to write anymoooooore.
*small tantrum* *end tantrum*

Date: 2009-11-20 02:07 am (UTC)There's the Tom Perotta method, skipping ahead to the next scene you really want to write. Or the big box of colored markers for plot outlines, the drawing of. But really, my best plot detangler ever was talking to my dad one day for about six hours. He happened to have some specialized knowledge that came in handy... and he's a good listener.
If you want a sounding board sometime, I'll volunteer. Anyhow, good luck! It sounds like a great world to dabble your feet in.
