I figured since [livejournal.com profile] liek_woah86 and [livejournal.com profile] gorrlaus have been posting so many delightful pictures of Colin Jeavons lately, I ought to return a little of the love. This is a somewhat pathetic offering, because in my foolishness I only took like five (nearly identical) screencaps from Blue Remembered Hills when I had it from Netflix. Blue Remembered Hills is a television play about a bunch of kids in the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire in 1944. The children are played by adult actors, and the movie is freaking brilliant and all kinds of disturbing. Sadly for me, it's not available on DVD in the US unless you buy the multi-disk Helen Mirren collection, which I can't really justify seeing as there aren't any other movies in the collection that I've ever seen.

But all that aside! Colin Jeavons is absolutely amazing in this movie, and is adorable. He plays Donald, an abused child who the other kids target to pick on.

This is the reason I took any screencaps at all. Those eyes. He's talking to one of the other boys at this point in a barn, possibly about matches.

This is right when the other boy tells him that his mother says she wants Donald to come live with them. He asks: "Do she? Do she?"

I should have taken more screencaps! The other boy's father wouldn't let his mother take Donald in, though.
