Fic update! To make me feel better.

Skating fic: 1,265 words, and almost done. Hello there, brick wall. What the heck? This is utter, shameless, tooth-rotting fluff we're writing here - this particular genre isn't supposed to have brick walls. And it's not like I don't know what happens next. I do. It's just that my writing has suddenly taken a turn towards the abysmal. When you write something that looks okay now but you have this niggling feeling you're going to look at it tomorrow and wonder what on earth possessed you, it might possibly be an indication that it's time to be done for the night!

Lestrade-Holmes-post-Hiatus-giant-row-fic: 1,508 words of notes, by god. *eyes them suspiciously* And 356 words of mostly random disjointed dialogue. I need to work on this hardcore, but I'm determined to finish the skating fic first. It does give me little shivers of excitement when I think about writing it, though XD At least, some parts do. I'm a little afraid of the others o_o

Re: Skating fic, am conditioning my sweet tooth. When I gain five pounds from all the chocolate eating, am going to call it research and blame you, my dear Elaby :P Another inch on the hips is well worth it for an Elabyfic! I know you'll get past your block on it soon; sometimes, these things just need to marinate. I have every confidence in your brilliance!

Speaking of your winterfic, my attempts to hear the musica have been foiled and foiled again. I was at the Art Institute of Chicago the other day, and sought out this little Asian-style...almost temple-type room which almost nobody knows is there (I found it during the summer I interned.) Generally speaking, one of the most silent, peaceful, loveliest places I know. Wasn't in there fifteen seconds before three women came trouping in behind me, gossiping like it was going out of style. One might say that my feelings towards them were neither generous nor pacific. One might also say that I would not have been entirely adverse to strangling them with my bare hands, for ruining a beautiful place like that. Sometimes it seems like there is no quiet left in the world. I will keep trying, however.

Re: Giant Row fic, I STILL CANNOT WAIT. I become uncivilized and capslock-prone just THINKING about it. And being afraid of a fic is how you know you've got something good, or that's how it is for me, anyway. It's going to be marvelous, and I will love it forever. 100% guaranteed!

I just want you to know that I cracked up (out loud, really) reading your first paragraph of that comment! XD

And MAN do I ever sympathize on you wanting to strangle those godawful women. I had the SAME thoughts dealing with a woman on the Victorian Mansion tour we were just on!

*munches* Thanks! Fancy a bite? *passes over chocolate bar* Just to keep in condition, naturally. Gotta keep that sugar tolerance high XD

What IS it with those women? Seriously, why schlep all the way to someplace interesting to NOT PAY ATTENTION to the interestingness of the place to which you have schlepped? *sigh* What is the world coming to? Panic in the streets, babies having babies...*shakes head in despair*

the place to which you have schlepped?

<3 <3 Grammar love! XD

This lady in the Victorian house was SO irritating, bwagh. [livejournal.com profile] caitirin thankfully came up with the brilliant plan that we needed air and had to go out and catch the next tour.

I totally love the fact that you feigned light-headedness and needing air! How very Victorian-ladylike! "Excuse me, but I have the vapors..." *scuttles*

Bahaha! I know! I actually told the dude I had to use the bathroom. It was [livejournal.com profile] caitirin who told the lady at the shop that we needed air.

Bwaha! And I will be entirely willing to shoulder the blame ^_^ I think you're right about it marinating. It'll get there.

Agh, there is little worse than people being loud when you're someplace beautiful and silent! But I'm still tickled beyond belief that you keep trying.

One might say that my feelings towards them were neither generous nor pacific.

*giggles* You have a consistently delightful way with words, my dear :)

And being afraid of a fic is how you know you've got something good, or that's how it is for me, anyway.

And your experience certainly counts for a lot in my book. I just need to force myself somewhere and start it, instead of trying to do it when I have a million distractions. *HUG* You are so encouraging, thank you!
