I love Pokemon T_____T

Also, I have the best wife in the entire known universe.

So, it's snowy tonight so we stayed home and didn't go to writing night (and obviously that means I get no writing done whatsoever! *laughs*) so caitirin was going to knit and said, "I'm going to put in a silly movie, okay?" I said okay, of course :3 We see previews for Shaolin Soccer and some other kid-type movies, and I'm like "... Ninja Turtles?" because she was singing the theme song earlier. Then I see a preview for some anime about a kid who has a pet pig, and I think "NO WAY XD"

Yes way :3 It was Pokemon 4Ever (worst name in the world!), the fourth movie, which I think takes place during the Johto season and features Celebi, time-travelling alien bug thing of kawaii doom.

When we were at the gym on Saturday, they were playing the third Pokemon movie and I was absolutely tickled. I LOVE Pokemon. LOVE it. I could totally do without the actual battles (ostensibly the point of the show! Ha!) but I love the characters and their overwhelming, tooth-rotting goodness. Ash will happily throw himself in front of any number of dangers to save an innocent being, and he's so earnest and adorable. And Brock is just the best mommy ever, and Misty is feisty and doesn't really get to do much but I still love her. But mostly I love Ash and Pikachu, and in this movie, Sammy (kid dragged 40 years into the future by Celebi - actually Professor Oak as a kid! ZOMG! - and all of the cuteness that went with them. In order for maximum drama, they made sure Ash and Sammy got to be BESTEST BEST BOYFRIENDS EVER so they could have a tearful goodbye when Sammy eventually went back to his own time. BWAH XD *giant dork* I really want to draw fanart now.

[edit: Okay, list of things I want to draw in the near future:
- Konata sleeping on Kagami's shoulder and Kagami being like "!!! Geh! *red face*"
- Usagi sleeping on Rei's shoulder and Rei looking all fondly exasperated
- Something cute with Ash and Sammy XD]

And, of course, Jessie and James XD They didn't fear hug as much as fear clasp in this movie, and they were extremely incidental to the plot, but they were their cute selves and did what they do in all of movies - attempt to steal Pikachu, suck at it, save the twerps' butts at various intervals, and end up stranded somewhere comfy.

I seem to remember the third movie (at the gym) having a lot better animation, though. I guess I'll just have to watch it :3 Apparently there are like eleven Pokemon movies out now. I need to seeeeeee them. At least the ones before they changed the voice actors O_o

Eeeee! I love Pokemon, too. :) I don't remember how many movies I've seen, but not more than three, I don't think. The first one was so rife with OMG fear-hugging ...
