Finally finished this picture, which isn't the Holmes drawing meme I've mentioned a few times, but is something I started around the same time I started that (i.e. several months ago). I'm a slacker like whoa and I worked a little bit on the coloring every so often, and now it's done. It's almost gotten to the point where the art looks kind of wonky to me, so I figured I'd finish and post it before I decided to do something stupid like give up on it ^^;;

Thank you to Watsuki for the picture of Saitou I used to help me figure out how a lighted cigarette casts shadows on people's faces :3

This is from "The Final Problem," when Holmes shows up at Watson's house all beat up and asks for a match. Inspired, of course, by the scene in the Granada episode, which is... guh.

Beautiful! The light... and their expresions. Watson looks reverent and Holes looks almost sad behind his intentness. And the match glow ... wow.

To do the matchlight thing, I fooled around with the gradient tool in one of its options which lets you make the circle of light sort of thing, and then I did a lot of crap with switching layers and filling in bits and making sure Watson's left hand was on top, etc. I can show you the un-flattened file sometime if you come over :) I'm not sure I could reproduce it ^^;;
