I should post more about all of these later, but:

Things that have been giving me great joy lately!

OMG, I forgot how incredibly much I love Horatio Hornblower. He could not be more adorable. Captain Pellew pwns the seven seas, and Robert Lindsey is so one of my favorite actors ever. He does these things with his eyes, and they're so dark...

The Dresden Files TV series is really growing on me. I liked the first episodes I saw, but I really like it now. Bob. Oh, Bob. We just saw the episode where Bob became mortal for a little bit so that he could magically skewer Harry's resurrected Evil Uncle Justin. There was touching, ohmygod. Because Bob can't touch things otherwise, so we had to have dying-in-Harry's-arms while we had the chance. The slashers must have had a CONNIPTION. I don't even want to slash them and I almost died of the meltysquee. *pets Bob and his white hair and fastidiousness* Also, WTF was up with them suddenly deciding in one episode that Murphy's name is Connie? I KNOW they called her Karrin in earlier episodes!

Have I gone on about the BBC Sherlock Holmes radio adaptations by Bert Coules? They are SO GOOD. I can't even fathom how good they are. I'm hopefully getting the collection for my birthday, but I have a few samples, and hoshit, they're incredible. Clive Merrison as Holmes took some getting used to, because he... well, he doesn't sound like Jeremy Brett, and while Holmes-in-my-head doesn't look exactly like Jeremy Brett, he does sound like him. Clive Merrison has a rougher voice, with somewhat more passion, and I was kind of like O_o when I first heard him, but MAN. Did he ever grow on me. The second I heard Michael Williams as Watson, I thought he was perfect (and I still think so, pretty much), but Clive Merrison might be surpassing him in my estimation of good voice acting. The man can convey such a range, and I've never heard anyone who can put as much meaning into a single sound that isn't even a word. I never knew "Mgh" could have so many nuances. I just listened to The Sign of the Four, and ohgod. The cocaine scenes. I was floored.

Hey, that ended up being pretty long for a meant-to-be-short post! Oh well :3 Poor Mr. Rochester, I never use his icon! *uses it*

It's funny how the actor who plays Dresden actually has a british accent when he speaks normally... and the actor who plays Bob has an American accent in his normal voice.

Aren't they! So much love for those. And unlike the Jeremy Brett series it was consistently good.

I (luckily) haven't seen enough of the Jeremy Brett series to see any that are bad yet, but MAN, the Bert Coules stuff is incredible.

I love Horatio Hornblower, too. I should watch it again.

Did you get Dresden Files on Netflix, or is actually on TV? Of course, I suppose I really should read the books first.

I'm hopefully getting the collection for my birthday

Only the Birthday Fairy knows! *giggle*

Haha, the Birthday Fairy! XD *loves you*

We're getting the Dresden Files from Netflix :) I think you'd really like them! And the books! They're completely different from the books, except for the concept and basic characters (the plot's vastly different), so it's kind of cool to watch both of them.

I want to get the Horatio Hornblower DVDs someday!
