Granny square!

caitirin taught me to make a granny square :3 It'll be used in her afghan she's making! Here's a picture of my first attempt:



I like this yarn!

We had a lovely weekend taking care of _melisande_'s puppy, Indy. He's just the cutest thing ever, and he's such a good dog. We watched lots of movies (mostly featuring Bruce Willis, entirely without planning it!) and I have a DVD of Horatio Hornblower that _melisande_ lent me. She has the best movies EVER! I am reminded of how much I seriously <3 Captain Pellew.

Also, seen in thasolumn's Twitter: DCA, a new treatment for cancer being currently tested. That looks promising. Nice of them to write the article in a way even I could understand, too!

Now trying to imagine Beatrix and Freija's reactions to a puppy... bet that was fun! Lovely colors of blue in the yarn there too. Sounds like a perfect way to spend a cool evening.

My old landlady, from grad school, called me at work this week; it was so cool to see a New Hampshire phone number show up on the phone! Made me a little homesick. She says you have more fall than we do.

We do have quite a bit of fall! It's been taking me by surprise :) We found orange leaves outside of Holloway this evening.

Luckily, we went to our friend's house and took care of her puppy so that we didn't have to expose him to Beatrix and Freija. He probably would have been okay, but Freija would have wanted to play too much and Beatrix probably would have flipped ^^;;
