caitirin is smashing them in the kitchen. I went over to give her the last batch of chopped strawberries and as I was cleaning up, she dropped one of the strawberries on the floor.
caitirin: Ack!
elaby: What?
caitirin: I dropped some on the floor. *points with foot* That one. It's dead*. It's dead to me! Get it out of my sight!
*"dead" is normally used to mean "it can't be used, throw it away" in our house. Things never got quite this dramatic before, though.
