Yorkies?

A question for our British friends:

We visited a British imported goods store last weekend because they're the only place around where we can find McVitie's digestive biscuits (thank you, [livejournal.com profile] kniblet and [livejournal.com profile] dibsy for introducing us to this delicacy!) and we came across a chocolate bar called Yorkies which proclaims "This is not for girls!" Naturally, taking this as a challenge, we bought one.

It tastes, as far as I can tell, like a regular, no-frills chocolate bar.

So what's the boy-only-ness?

Maybe I'm stupid, but I still couldn't figure out why it wasn't for girls from the Wiki entry O_o Unless it's just that chunkier chocolate is for guys?

They also have Pocky For Men!

Raisin and bikkit ones are yummy. I bought Thingy a Girly Yorkie bar in Pink when it was available.

He didn't even notice!

Ooh, I saw the raisin ones at the store, but I wasn't sure if I'd like them so I went with the regular kind :)

Hee XD Pink!

supposed to be too chunky for girls.

It's not even particularly nice chocolate. Go for Dairy Milk instead. Much nicer. :-)

Like... it's in big chunks, chunky? Because it certainly wasn't FULL of chunks (of something besides chocolate) or anything.

I'll try that next time! I thought the Yorkie bar was okay, but I wasn't stunned :)

yeah, the chunks of chocolate are pretty big, compared to a regular chocolate bar.

I'd eat one, but only if I was totally out of decent chocolate, and I wouldn't choose one if presented with almost any other choice.

Hee :) I see! I was expecting it to have bits of stuff or something like that.

I have just fallen MADLY in love with Cadbury's Eclairs. Going to get a big bag next time we're at that store!

I'm suddenly feeling like I so fail at being British, because I don't think I know what those are.

*pats* It's okay! They're really yummy :) They're like little caramels with chocolate in the middle.

It's one of those size queen things. For some reason, marketing it as the chocolate of choice for lorry drivers seemed like a great idea.
