Art post part I
Jan. 20th, 2008 08:58 pmThe last time I did an art post was sometime around March of last year, and I pretty much drew one of these every Friday at gaming (when we had gaming) between then and now. So I'm going to split these into three posts, since there's 28 pictures! Because I drew them at gaming, they're all in pencil and I haven't colored any of them. I have plans to color one or two.
I've arranged them in approximate chronological order :) So the first ones are the oldest.
Image heavy!
Kid Link, from Ocarina of Time. At the time I drew this, I was on a major Zelda kick (having been playing Twilight Princess the first time around). I think he ended up looking more like he's around 10 or 11 than 5 or 6, like he looks in the game. Oh well! Navi is following him and unlike most of us, Link doesn't seem to mind.

I did a bunch of wing studies when I was at my parents' house over Christmas 2006, using a book I found helping them unpack some of my crap, one that I'd bought in England. This kind of wings ended up being my favorite, so I tried it out on a person. Considering the chest and groin, I must have not intended it to be a specific gender, but I always think of her as a she. The hairpiece thing was an attempt at some jewelry. I'm pretty bad at clothing/accessory design, but I try.

caitirin's KOL character, Edy! All decked out in her neatest stuff (at the time of the drawing). KOLites will notice all sorts of crap in her pockets :3 She's so much fun to draw.

This is my character, Helen Forster, from our game of Furry Pirates this summer. She was the ship's cook :)

And she fought with an iron ladel XD It did 1d8 damage! Just as good as her rapier! *giggles* I came up with the little song (to the tune of "Dreidel, Dreidel, Dreidel") with the help of
templarwolf and Caitirin. Er, the furries in this game are very human-like, but mine only wore an apron. She also accidentally got married to our ship's mage while both were extremely drunk ¬_¬

This is Caitirin's character, Constance, a badger. She was middle-aged and a tavern-keeper, and she had already had several children who were way too boring for her so she left them all (they were grown up) and went to sea XD She was wonderful.

On the same day, I drew a random cat head to see if I could still draw anthro. He looks pretty good :)

This is Cora, my character from our Deadlands game. She's a 19 year old scrawny Irish girl with the character flaw "Big Britches" who was raised by her older brothers. She spent the game pretty much trying to annoy the bad guys to death.

This is some kind of faerything I drew during one of our gaming sessions this summer at Templarwolf and
amythestcat's house. I'm thinking of coloring this one with gradients. I think I was starting to get into pagan things the week I drew this.

Some tribal Pan-like fae sort of dude. I mostly drew this to see if I could pull off the pose. His feet are a little wonky, but the rest of him is okay, and I like his hair. His face is sort of in my old high-school style :3 Like how I used to draw Odran and Isolt.

And this is Rye, my character from
jongleur_gerard's D&D game :) Rye is a sea elf, and had trouble running on land. He had royal blue skin and sea green hair. He was fun :)

I've arranged them in approximate chronological order :) So the first ones are the oldest.

Date: 2008-01-21 01:06 pm (UTC)I liked playing deadlands, we played it about 6 years ago and I was a Mad Professor with a rapid fire flame thrower. I couldn't handle the thing properly though, so I'd have frazzled Cora trying to protect her! She looks like she just walked out of an *old* St Trinians' film :D

Date: 2008-01-22 06:32 am (UTC)I like the winged person's hair ornaments, her wings (of course) and the position of her hands and feet.
I like Edy's smiley pendant, the band-aids on her knees, and her vampire duck!
I really love your faerything. :) Oh, yes, color it! What colors were you thinking? I can imagine it in shades of blue, green, and purple.
The Pan does have your older-style features.
Rye is just beautiful. I'd love to see him colored. What color are his eyes?

Date: 2008-02-13 02:33 am (UTC)Thank you :) I think I made Caitirin pose for me for the winged person's hands!
Hee, Edy was fun to draw XD Caitirin gave me ideas for all of her accessories.
I can imagine it in shades of blue, green, and purple.
You're my mother :) Those were the exact colors I was thinking of!
I'm pleased you recognize my older-style features ^_^
I think Rye's eyes are grey. I'm SURE I replied to this! O.o Maybe I just wrote the reply and forgot to post it!
