Internets!

There's a food court near where I work, and they have wireless internet there! So I'm going to be having lunch there from now on so I can read my f'list and my e-mail during the day. I spent today trying to figure out how it worked - the "default" wireless network that presented itself when I started up my computer flickered on and off and wouldn't hold a signal long enough to load anything. The Triforce dude* who makes sandwiches said it should automatically log you on, but I had to go through the list of networks, choosing at random, until I found one that didn't ask for a password. That one brought me to a page where I could create a profile for Food Court Wireless Internet use. I tried this, got an error several times, and called the help desk. 20 minutes of muzak later and the helpful IT dude set me up an account with no hassle whatsoever, so now I can has Ell-Jay during my lunch hour! Whee! I work a half-hour later if I take a whole hour for lunch, but it's fine, because [livejournal.com profile] caitirin can take the bus out to the mall near where I work and she's on it for a half-hour LESS than she is when she goes home. Silly bus schedule.

So! Internets! Whee!

*There's a guy who makes sandwiches at the food court who has a triforce tattooed on his arm. He's getting it replaced with another Zelda tattoo, he told me, and we had a nice conversation about how much Zelda rules. He also makes good grilled cheese.

Don't know if you got my slightly-inebriated message Friday night, but it turns out that Triforce Dude is an acquaintance of mine through Cafe on the Corner (when he worked there) and the comic shop. We were at the comic shop owner's get-out-of-a-bad-job party on Friday when I noticed his tattoo and asked him if had run into you.

I did get your message! That's so funny. You know everyone! Everyone being Jim and Triforce Dude, but still.

Not everyone, just 90% of the world. The other 10% I care not to talk to.
