ZOMG Zelda

The weather is CRAP today.
But I beat Twilight Princess! It was SO COOL. And I had remarkably little difficulty taking down Ganondorf. This is totally the kind of game that I could start right over again because it's just that good, but I think I'll play Wind Waker for a little while first. Or, god forbid, do something productive like write or draw, which I haven't done much of (aside from the commission I'm working on, which I'm very close to finishing).
Hahayeahright!
Anyway, Twilight Princess is probably the best video game I've ever played. Okay, probably nothing. It IS the best.
I was SO happy that I didn't have to shoot Ganon with any goddamn light arrows (since Zelda did that for me) because that's the reason I've only beaten Ocarina of Time once. I run out of arrows and magic. No magic in this, and the final battle is a swordfight, which is three kinds of awesome. Ganon doesn't do much scary damage, though, in any of the parts of his fight. I found the Goron king dude and Possessed Yeta MUCH scarier. Ganon was cool and all (especially cool-looking) but I wasn't particularly worried at any part of the fight.
I still have yet to finish the Cave of Ordeals, because taking on three Dark Nuts when you only get a total of, like, four recovery hearts after FIFTY levels of dungeon is too much for me. I also didn't get all the Poe souls, because I wanted to do plot and not run around waiting for it to be nighttime.
Midna is probably the GREATEST Zelda non-Link character ever. Not only is she badass and smart-mouthed and powerful and full of delicious character development, she's also gorgeous in her true form. Holy whoa, is what Link was thinking. Zelda, bogglingly, also didn't tick me off at all. She was quite cool, in fact, and USEFUL. I couldn't quite believe it. I would have rather she wasn't there at the end so that Link could have said goodbye to Midna in private (not that he would have said anything) but with her there it was kind of, er... awkward, or something. I'm also glad it showed all the little side characters going home and stuff (yay for Colin with a sword-and-shield!) I also LOVED that the little group of underground revolutionary people showed up at Hyrule Castle to save Link's butt at one point. I don't think Link's ever had a group of friends watching his back before (I mean, apart from Sheik, who plays a different role) and I thought it was wicked nifty. The entire thing was nifty in the extreme.
caitirin is playing it now :) She's still on the first dungeon! Link is so little! Only three hearts!

Date: 2007-03-03 02:25 am (UTC)Of course, I was disappointed with the difficulty. I entered Hyrule Castle with 14 Hearts, no Magic Armor, 2 Fairies, and a bottle of Great Fairy's Tears; I did not use any of my bottles across the four fights.
