I had this dream a couple of nights ago that I keep meaning to journal, in order to save it for posterity because it had a pretty cool story (scary as it was).

Seeing as [livejournal.com profile] caitirin had a certified Bad Afternoon today, I took her to the Thai restaurant. We shared Pad Thai, as it is HUGE at night, and I had their delectable vegetable soup. Didn't go over my points, even though I had that AND a doughnut for breakfast!

Then, at the grocery store, they had Advent Children, so we snatched it up. OMG SQUEE x twenty. I made us watch it when we came home n_n

So, anyway, the dream. Under a cut for the non-interested.

In my dream, there was this girl and her family living in a very nice wooden house. I got the impression that it was in Old Norse times (curse you, Njal's Saga!) and they had all these candles lit, dozens in every room. They couldn't go to bed unless the candles were all blown out, so the family went around to each room to blow them out. When they tried, though, none of them would blow out - they even tried pinching the wicks between their fingers, and the flames kept coming back.

Finally, the dad or brother or some boy type in the family decided to pour wax onto the flames to see if that would do it. He poured some all over some of the smaller candles, then onto this large, thick taper. The flame went out, but then the wick, which was now buried, started pushing up through the wax. It pushed up through, but then they saw that it wasn't a wick: it was this small, spindly, claw-y charred hand at the end of a long arm. Then this demon, who was small but all spindly and blackened emerged from the candle. He had a round head and pointed ears, and a very knobbly charred face with bits falling off. And an insane, pointy smile.

The girl had a key, and I can't remember what the key was for, but her father thought that it had something to do with the demon being there, so he threw it down the well... and he threw the girl down with it. As she was falling down the well, something caught her ankle, and she thought it was her mother, but it was actually the demon, with an even more maniacal terrifying grin. It pulled her back up and brought her back into the house, where it was holding the family and planning to do who knows what horrible things.

So in the house, the family had this cat, a dark orange striped tabby. And this cat was the Devil, with a capital D. Satan. But it wasn't nearly as threatening as the candle demon. The cat was sitting in an armchair, and another cat walked in through the door. This one was also an orange tabby, but very very pale peach, and it glowed. This cat was God, and the Devil cat had called for him to come help them. So he was going to save the family and take care of the demon.

That was as far as the dream went.

Now I have a cute be-towelled [livejournal.com profile] caitirin next to me on the couch :) I'm stealing her computer because mine's off.

Hehe! That's exactly why I wanted to write it down. Usually they're much less lucid and interesting. I should make it into a short story! God and the Devil were rather buddy-buddy in it... I wonder what that says about my subconscious ^^;;
