The schoolwork motivation this semester is registering at about -17. And so far it's all BLINDINGLY easy work. Gah. I suck.

But I had falafel for lunch. Which we made ourselves and baked so it was only 2 points for 5 patties!

I'd rather read Song of Roland than work on this paper. But this paper is due before Song of Roland is, and I imagine we won't get to it since we were behind with Beowulf last class.

Not to sound ignorant, but what's falafel and how do you make it? Would I like it? I know I could go and look it up, but I'd rather just ask you ... *grins*

We made it from a mix, the Near East brand (I think it's the kind you buy to make rice pilaf). It's this... stuff... uh ^^;; It's bulgar wheat or something, and in little patties, and you bake it and it gets crispy on the outside. I think I told you that you can get it in wraps at this Greek place in Durham and it's really good. We had them in pitas with lettuce and pickles (pickles are important!) and hummus. I had some ranch on mine. They take about 50 minutes to make altogether, though.

Well, when you bake them, that is. Frying them in oil is quicker but worse for you ^^;;

It sounds really yummy. I like bulgar wheat. I like the idea of baking them, too. Much healthier, although I suppose if you use healthy oil and not too much of it, it wouldn't be too bad.

They're REALLY good. I wouldn't eat them alone, because they have a slightly weird taste, but in a sandwich with hummus and lettuce and pickles (and I liked my ranch) they're great.
