New camera :D

For my birthday this year (I'm 31, omfg) I asked for donations toward a good camera :3 And using the gifts I got and after saving up a little, I just welcomed home my own Olympus SP-810US! <3 <3 <3 After I bought it, I discovered I'd gotten the same camera as
_melisande_ XD I had grilled her about cameras when I was trying to figure out what one to buy, but I didn't remember what model she had - and since I know she did a ton of research before buying hers (and I did as well), I'm pretty confident in my choice!
I've been experimenting with it ever since it arrived in the mail, and today Rachel dropped me off at the cemetery down the street while she did grocery shopping so I could take some pictures of snow-covered gravestones.
My very first picture was of Freija :3

Fun with exposure XD This one was taken with the exposure at +1.3.

And this one was taken at -1.3.

OVEREXPOSED KITTEN.

There's a self-portrait mode where you can… take selfies more easily? I guess?

Today we went to a Christmas tree fair charity thing where you got to buy raffle tickets for all sorts of creatively-decorated trees, to support Maine's foster care system. Outside, I took some pictures. This is with the settings on auto.

And this is with the settings on "landscape". Big difference! Everything is brown-toned instead of blue.

My favorite subject! :D

OMG CUTEST

Then I headed over to Forest Glade Cemetery. I love how all the roads have designations. I know big graveyards normally do this, but apparently I never noticed it until recently :)

Some pretty monuments.

Another shot of said pretty monuments, and a branch.

I really thought these monuments were pretty XD

An interesting sunburst, with a grid of red dots.

Really gorgeous carved roses on a grave for May.

This camera has a thing called a "super macro" function. It picked up the details of these roses really well. I can't wait to use it on things like tea :3

I liked these carved roses too.

The zoom works really well too. This statue is at the top of a very high monument.

The sun was just high enough over the trees to fall on her face.

I thought the script was really pretty.

Urn.

Our Ethel has a very nice stone.

Moss-covered pathway up to the beautiful chapel :3

Omake! Lavinia says hi :)
