I did a little drawing this week, and I finished drawbles for [livejournal.com profile] mermaiden and [livejournal.com profile] caitirin :3

For the beautiful and inspiring [livejournal.com profile] mermaiden! Michiru and a whale :D Er, the source I used for the whale was a humpback, I believe. This is the first time I've tried using Prismacolor pencils for several years, and... the scanner really made the colors look funny, so I think I'm going to mail you the original. Because I'm rather pleased with it ^_^

For my wifey! Cade is her character from her most recent Nano, a teenage psychic just learning about his powers from a wizard (Elliot, a.k.a. that there stick figure). She requested him with an expression like "If you make one more Star Wars joke, I'm going to choke a bitch. No, seriously." I think I succeeded XD A JC Penney magazine model helped me with the shoulders.

In related news, people on DeviantArt continue to tick me off daily. It must be nice to be so popular and have such a wonderful opinion of yourself that you can complain about how other people draw your characters and then link to an example of how they dared to get your character's hair wrong. And there was no indication that said example was a commission or anything like that. Good lord.

In not-so-related news, we just watched Zardoz, that 70's sci-fi movie with Sean Connery in a bright orange speedo. On a sense-making scale of 1 to 10, where 10 is Love Actually* and 1 is End of Eva, Zardoz registers at about -14. I don't think the fact that I was coloring/trying to install scanner drivers while watching really impaired my ability to understand it that much.

We went to a yarn festival today :3 It was really fun! There were lambies! And alpacas! Alpacas have HUGE eyes, and make the cutest noises.

*I had a hard time thinking of a movie that exemplifies "making sense." I picked Love Actually because it has lots of plot lines and you can follow every one of them easily.

I thought Zardoz was pretty decent. Certainly better than I'd expected it to be. For that matter, EoE made sense to me too...maybe I'm just screwed up in the head enough...

Care to explain it, then?

There are no words for how awful Zardoz is. *is wordless*

I was surprised at the quality of Zardoz and how... obviously SOMEthing was going on, but I couldn't for the life of me follow it.

elaineofshalott: Lord Asriel as played by Daniel Craig, looking keenly interested, with the Hamlet quote "More things in Heaven & Earth". (than are dreamt of)

Zardoz, that 70's sci-fi movie with Sean Connery in a bright orange speedo.

...there's a...what? *looks it up* Dear heavens. That looks hilariously bad. I wonder if it's ever on television?

Do you like your movies to make sense, generally? or does the not-making-sense only bother you when it's unintentional?

Awwwww alpacas. I've heard that llamas hum to their babies; I wonder if alpacas are the same.

It was pretty bad! I spend most of it going "Wait... what? Is that supposed to make sense?" rather than laughing at it, unfortunately.

I like my movies to make sense, generally. That isn't to say that I don't like complicated plots, because I really do - I just don't like it when I have the feeling I was supposed to get something and I totally don't. If they're not meant to, it doesn't bother me as much, but I like to know what I'm going into. I guess I don't have enough experience with 70's sci-fi to expect anything, really.

The alapacas were adorable! And very bizarre-looking. I never noticed what huge eyes and long necks they have.
