elaby: (Twelfth Night - tale)

There is very little quite as wonderful as Horatio Hornblower movies. *squishes them with love* For the following reasons:

- Horatio, Archie, and Bush leaping off the cliff
- Matthews and Styles fighting over the telescope to see if above trio survived leaping off said cliff
- Matthews having to visibly restrain himself from hugging Horatio he's so happy Horatio didn't die leaping off said cliff
- Matthews telling Bush that Styles is "lost for words, he's so chuffed to see you alive" when Bush notes with some chagrin that the crew isn't quite as happy to see him as they are to see Horatio and Archie
- Styles being quite panicked at the prospect of Bush's guts bleeding out of him
- Pellew. Just... at all. Ever. His every smallest glance speaks volumes. Robert Lindsay, how are you so awesome?
- The scene right at the end (we don't talk about the scene before that) where Pellew gives Horatio his commandership and says "I wish you--" and Horatio just gets this look of almost astonished comprehension. Pellew's response, of course, is the same as anytime somebody comes close to figuring out just how much he cares about Horatio - he looks just a little embarrassed and rewords whatever he was about to say to something less telling. I could probably give you a dozen examples of this over the series.

Bwahahahaha! I LOVE IT XD And then the historians go "No, he actually said 'KISMET, Hardy.' Absolutely no kissing took place."
