Now, I just always assumed that the animators (like many of my favorite
animators) were simply smoking some really good crack and had adhered
to the age-honored "it sounded like a good idea at the time".

On Gluhen:

"It appears that Project Weiß had been using the original character designs that Tsuchiya Kyouko developed in the first manga, "An Assassin and
White Shaman" without paying royalties. She sued and won. The tv
series, however, had already been fully completed by then, so they had
to change it. As Gluhen doesn't use cel art, but cgi, there is no way
to see the original version. "

That explains the hair color
changes from the manga to the series. They probably were nervous that
she'd think they were stealing her stuff, and so changed some of the
characters' hair color. Apparently, that didn't work -_-;;
*coughlameideaanywaycough*

BWAH. So apparently Nagi joined Kritiker (damn, can't remember who they are...
[livejournal.com profile] caitirin? [livejournal.com profile] merrick42?) after the end of the first series and the drama CDs. The
reason I was looking this up today was because I'd been listening to
the drama CD in the car, for all the good that did me ("Wait, is that
Crawford? What did he just say? If he just said 'it's a miracle of
love,' I'm going to puke." And, "Wait, what did he just say?" *rewind*
"Nope, still have no clue.") and I wanted to know the plot. For all I
can tell at the moment, Farfarello's in love with some chick named Sari
(Sally? Yes, so it says on the page)
and Schuldich tries to nail her, so Farf nearly strangles him to death.
And there's some sexy-voice-woman named Sylvia who I think both
Crawford AND Schudich have shagged - not from understanding, mind you,
but from having read stuff before - who I'm pretty sure Crawford shoots
at the end. And some pigeons. I don't know WHAT the pigeons are doing
there.

But... got way off track. Kritiker is good, as far as I
know O.o I thought they might be the people who
guy-with-scar-and-dead-chibi-angst-who-smacked-Aya-that-time worked for.

*DIES laughing* This is a great summery of Weiss Kreuz. "All the boys have angsty pasts and love interests that come and go, a few
have chips on their shoulders due to family problems; it's a
many-layered, many-threaded tapestry of despair, etc. etc."

Very good review
Oh, SO very apt. *giggling*

"Ok, so what exactly makes this show so horrifically bad? Besides the kitty
and flower references, it sounds like Weiss could be a decent show.
That is, if whoever directed the God-awful piece of work dedicated more
than a $12 animation/$7 writing budget per episode."

"Not only does the animation look like absolute garbage, the writing is so ... so
... let's just say, one character has a death scene at one point, yet
an episode or two later he isn't dead anymore. No explanation--none of
the other characters even seem surprised."

So I had to write fanfiction about it *cough*

And... love this.

"Schwarz: Cooler than you, cooler than me, cooler than this terrible show."

"Well, it's a show based on a Japanese audio drama, so I have no idea why anyone would want to watch an English dub anyway."

Hell yeah to THAT.

"The animation quality is substantially higher, the story is quite good and
raises interesting questions, and Ken ... Ken actually has some great
characterization (OK, you can stop laughing now)."

Hehehe, poor Ken. He's so neglected, he's so maligned, he's so... there...

Still haven't found anything out about the plot of the CDs.

Oo. Nice. A timeline of Schwarz history, including all the manga and CDs and shows.

Whoahoh good page. Well, for the Schwarz and generally yaoi-inclined ^_^

BWAH Crawford (almost called him Brad... bad fanpage) has blond-grey hair in Gluhen. I am SO officially scared of that show.

*GIGGLEsnerf*

"Then
there's Gluehen...um...well... *tries to keep from laughing* he's
dressed in a dark salmon colored suit, complete with frilly sleeves, a
green I-think-that-is-supposed-to-be-a-tie, brown shoes (boots?),
and...a monocle."

"In the dramas, it's mentioned that he screwed
Sylvia, and while she still lusted after him, he blew it off as 'just
sex' before he shot her XD"

Oh. So THAT was what he was saying. .... Cool.

I think I'm don't know ^^;; [edit two years later: Um... what?]
