I <3 M*A*S*H

Yes, I should be working on my novel, but we turned the TV on during dinner and M*A*S*H was on!

Early-season Hawkeye got his social indignation on, and it was a marvelous thing. It's not such a marvelous thing when he does it toward the end of the series ¬_¬ He turned down sex (early-season Hawkeye, mind you!) because his girlfriend was a bigot.

The next episode was the one where Margaret and Frank try to get Henry court-martialed, and it goes through all the wacky things he lets the hospital get away with (gurney races!). Hawkeye and Trapper got... I dunno, put into confinement, bread and water and, for some reason, no clothes (I was trying to discourage the cat from climbing our tower of baking-material tupperware at the time). This dialogue ensued:

Hawkeye: I can't think here! There's no booze, the place has been cleaned to within an inch of its life... and your knees are driving me wild.
Trapper: Don't get smart with me, soldier. I'm cheap, but I'm not easy.

*comes back ten minutes later after getting distracted reading M*A*S*H quotes while trying to make sure she had the above quote right*

There's nothing I like more than a show where the guys have no compunction about affectionately kissing each other.

[Edit: Have any of you ever had your icons randomly replaced by another icon that isn't yours? Like... I just posted my icon with Sano and Saitou being all antagonistic, and it was the right icon for a minute or two... and then I refreshed, and it was some random icon that I don't have. With somebody maybe from Bleach? I changed the icon, but anyone know what's up with this?]

re Random icons -- Someone else mentioned this as a comment in one of the LJ posts regarding the new (blech!) profile page. I suspect LJ screwed up something interrelated in the code.

I could get sucked into watching M*A*S*H so easily - and I probably will. I've had full cable for two days, and I've watched - what? - four episodes? I didn't see those two, though, but I remember them! And the quote. OMG. Nothing quite like Hawkeye and Trapper. Fun times.

That icon thing has happened to me more than once, and I've heard of it happening to several others now and again. I think it's some sort of LJ glitch that happens periodically.

M*A*S*H is wonderful. Used to watch it all the time with my dad, who had quite a collection of M*A*S*H books.
