Last night I finished watching the first season of The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes (the Jeremy Brett one), which [livejournal.com profile] _melisande_ so kindly lent me :) I want it for my own, and I want to see more seasons! Even if it is a different Watson from now on. I haven't seen tons of Holmes movies or shows, but I do believe that for me there is no other Holmes than the sofa-jumping, flawless-line-delivering, sometimes-practically-giddy Jeremy Brett. The adaptations are for the most part word-for-word, as _melisande_ said they'd be, and the embellished bits that fill in where the story stays silent are delightful.

Side effect of reading Holmes during lunch at work: You come in, start reading e-mail, and start typing a response with something approximating "My dear Mr. [Sales Rep], I'm quite sure the RFP requested that the formatting not be changed, hence the differing font colors." Luckily I realized that my tone might come across as snotty before I sent it ^^;;

Need Holmes icons! I do have detective icons I forgot about, though.

He was always my favorite Holmes. I grew up watching those on PBS Mystery!. While we were in Europe, we stopped at Reichenbach Falls on one of our trips through Switzerland.
