Happy Thanksgiving to everyone who celebrates it! And to everyone who doesn't, I hope you have a really nice day too :)

My mother (now coastal_spirit - we gave her an LJ rename token for her birthday!) makes the BEST apple pie in the entire universe. No joke. We brought some home after spending the day at their house for Thanksgiving. We also had really wonderful snacks (crackers and cheese, chips and dip, nuts) and really fantastic stuffing cooked outside the bird, and cauliflower au gratin and green bean casserole and mashed potatoes and rolls. And cranberry-apple-orange-walnut chutney. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday!

I feel a lot better, though I'm still coughing. I've started a new storyline in the my Nano, and although I'm way behind, I'm still going to try to write every day even if I don't get to 50,000 by the thirtieth.

We brought turkey home for our kitties! They LOVED it. I have to work tomorrow (blasphemy!) but I get out early, at least.

Mmmm, happy! I love my family.

Heh, I guess Belle it is :) I always liked her, but I liked her because she's NOT a princess. Or at least she doesn't start out as one. I guess marrying the Beast makes her one?

Speaking of which, I'm reading Robin McKinley's Rose Daughter right now, and HOMG. If I could write like that, I'd call myself talented. Every line is beautifully crafted. The whole thing is just incredibly beautiful. I haven't even got that far into it. It's really incredible. I liked The Hero and the Crown and The Blue Sword very much, but there's a charm about Rose Daughter that they don't compare to. The styles are very different, and Rose Daughter's style appeals to me much more. It's lovely.
