Dear Yuletide Writer,
Thank you so much for writing one of my requests! This is my first year doing Yuletide, and I'm very excited about it. I will love anything you write, and I want you to write something you'll enjoy, but I also don't want to be vague as heck if that'll make it harder for you.
First of all, some generalities about what I'd like:
- I prefer gen or light het/slash (touching, kissing). I don't like reading sex. Sex can take place, of course, but I like fade-to-black situations that don't actually show anything.
- I like fics that take place within canon, if at all possible. I'm all for the rewriting of certain scenes with more insight into what character X is thinking at the time, or a scene that takes place right after/before a scene in canon, and stuff like that.
- When it comes to fic, I like pretty mild things. Violence doesn't bother me that much, but I don't like torture. Like I said before, I don't like reading fics with sex scenes. I'm all over the angst, though :3 But I'm really a fan of subtlety. This isn't at all to say that I want everything to be subtle - just that you don't have to worry about me not being satisfied if the slash/angst/love/etc is of the "blink and you'll miss it" variety.
Roger Zelazny - Chronicles of Amber series: Benedict/Corwin/Julian/Random
I'd prefer gen for this, since sibling romantic relationships in Amber kind of weird me out (even the canon ones). I'm particularly fond of Julian and Corwin snarking at one another, Corwin being confused that he doesn't hate Julian as much as he remembered hating him, Corwin and Random goofing around, and Benedict being generally more intelligent and sane than everybody else. That definitely isn't to say I want all of these - I'd be happy with one or any combination, or even a character study of just one of them. I really like their interaction with each other, though :)
Angst is also good.
Shakespeare - Twelfth Night: Antonio/Feste/Sebastian
I love Antonio/Sebastian slash, and I also like Antonio pining for Sebastian (whether or not you decide Sebastian feels similarly in return). As with all of my slash tendencies, I like subtle touches and words better than ripping off of clothes XD I also adore Feste, though if you write anything about him, I'd prefer that it be gen. Interactions with any of the other characters are fine in both cases.
Because I really love the movie version of Twelfth Night with Ben Kingsley playing Feste, I always think of Feste as dealing with some sadness about getting older.
Angst is welcome! So is cute happy fluff :) And things in-between. I'm easy to please!
Gankutsuou aka The Count of Monte Cristo: Albert de Morcerf/Franz dEpinay/The Count
I'd be delighted with either the Count/Albert slash, Albert/Franz slash, or friendship with veiled romantic feelings involving either pairing. I'm most interested in the Count :) I also love angsty!dramatic!Count XD And Albert being earnest and somewhat clueless (pre-throwing a glove at the Count, I suppose). I like my slash very mild - touching and kissing, etc. I also prefer subtle slashy elements over overt lust.
Again, I'm very easy to please :) I haven't read any fanfic in this fandom, and I'm sure that anything you write will be wonderful.
Bram Stoker - Dracula: Dr. John Seward/Lord Arthur Holmwood/Quincey P. Morris
These guys are totally my OT3. I like their friendship, particularly touchy, comforty, post-Lucy-death friendship. For them, I'd like any slashy elements to be very understated. I'm really more interested in their friendship (though that friendship can stem from romantic feelings). I'm also happy with any combination of them. I would love angst, but it's not mandatory :)
