Mac question

Yet another Mac question!

How do I set something as my default program to open a kind of file with? I tried going to "Open With" and then clicking the "Always Open With" checkbox, but that seems to be specific to that one file and not to all files with the same extension. I figured it would be in some kind of Finder preferences and not in the program's preferences, so I haven't slogged through those yet. I tried Finder Help and came up with nothing, though I may be using wrong search terms. I figured I'd ask my all-knowing f'list first :)

In other news, there's nothing new on the cool job front, but I was asked for additional information, so I think that's a good sign. We leave for Florida (EEEEE!) in five days.

And Nano starts in half a month!

So far, my plans for Nano include:

-Fisher(wo)men
-Dragons

You can do that through "Get Info" in the file menu... click on a file of the kind you want to open - don't open it, just highlight it - go up to the file menu and choose "get info" for it. The box that opens should have an "open with" menu in it, and you can choose.

(At least, I just tried that with an appleworks file, and it worked. Someone else explained it to me when I was trying to get RealAudio to open RealAudio files on a website, and I had iTunes chosen as a default. I think I'm remembering right.)

The important part is to click "Change All" after selecting the new app. Otherwise it only applies to that specific file.

I thought I did, but maybe it required a restart. It's fixed now, at any rate! Thanks for your help!

Thank you! That seems to have worked ^_^
