HP Question

I've got an HP question for all of you followers of JKR out there: I've been reading her FAQ and responses to questions and things like that on her official page, and I've decided I'd like to write her a letter. But first, I want to make sure she's never actually addressed the thing I think she's never addressed.

Has there ever been any official discussion about sexuality in the wizarding world? Anti-discrimination and tolerance is such a huge theme in HP that I can't imagine everyone in the wizarding world is straight, but I don't know that the topic has ever been touched on. I've written up a letter asking about this, but I wouldn't want to send it if it's already been talked about and I just don't know about it.

I'm SURE that tons and tons of discussion has gone on in the fandom, but has JKR herself had anything to say about it?

Thank you! As you may know, I work at University-Fairview Hospital, which is right close by. I'm at home right now, waiting to be called in for triage work, if they need extra help with the phones. That's one of my (usually minor) job duties.

No, not that I've seen. And I've always wondered about it and hoped it would be addressed (and now that it's over(-ish) I plan to write and ask myself), because I doubt very much that she's never been asked.

I think that's an excellent question. As far as the books go, I don't think it's a subject that's ever been broached, and I think it would be interesting to hear what she has to say on the subject.

Yeah, I think it would be interesting to hear her opinions. I wasn't sure if she'd ever talked about it in interviews or something, but I don't think she has.

I don't think there has been.

Although, I personally think that the sudden Remus/Tonks romance was due to the fact that everyone, including Alfonso Cuarón, thought that Remus was gay.

Cuaron does have Snape compare Lupin and Sirius to an old married couple. *g* I don't know what Rowling thinks either; if you get an answer, I'd love to hear it!

On another topic entirely (though it may also have a werewolf), do you know if we have campaign tomorrow night? I've gotten off track.
