I know I should be used to this, but I still blink at the fact that in America, which is supposed to be, y'know, technologically advanced and all that, people still have to go to all the bother of shrinking fabric before using it. In England you just buy a piece of fabric and start sewing, because you can take it for granted that it will be pre-shrunk.

I think American needlewomen ought to get together and say to their fabric manufacturers, "Sell us pre-shrunk fabric or we'll order it from England via the Internet - why should we have to put up with this when they don't?"
