Dolly yoga

I haven't posted about my new doll, Aster! She's a LUTS Delf Arwen, and she's 58 cm tall -- the biggest addition to our dolly family. I had no idea how big she would really be! She came so quickly (only a month after ordering her!) that I didn't have time to buy or make her any clothes. I did have a wig for her, and I made her a sweater and some pants soon after she arrived, but they're far from the style I envision for her. Hopefully the new wig and clothes that are coming in the mail now will suit her better :3 Even though her temporary clothes aren't perfect, she still looks cute in them and she's just incredibly gorgeous all on her own.

We attended a doll meet in Boston the other weekend and had SO much fun. Everyone was so friendly and it was really nice to talk to other dolly people (and other Vocaloid fans! :D) The next day, Rachel and I decided to do some doll maintenance. I hot-glue sueded Aster's neck joint so her head would pose better, but her other joints were already pretty perfect, and I was afraid adding a layer of hot glue to them would throw off her balance. I started trying out some positions to see if she needed sueding anywhere… and it just seemed natural to put her in all of the poses I've been doing in yoga lately :3


We started off slow. She sits upright really nicely!


She doesn't have double joints, but I can tuck her hand behind her jaw like this to achieve a nice pose.


Getting a little more dynamic! Her arms hold steadily out to the sides.


And up over her head.


Now for a bit of stretching. Opening the chest…


And reaching in straight lines with the arms and legs.


This pose looks more like a bathing suit model than a yoga practitioner.


Doing a few twists to stretch the spine.


It was harder than I thought it would be to get her to sit with both legs up.


But she sits up on her knees very well.


Getting a good stretch through that arm!


I loved this pose so much I had to take another one from a higher angle :3


Now she's starting to practice some of the more common yoga poses. Table!

I'm not sure if this is a yoga pose or not. Kind of like bridge pose, only with more arms?


And she's all ready for meditation afterwards :)


Here are some pictures of her in her current wig and clothes (snowgray_white made the t-shirt and gave it to me at the meet! It suits Aster really well and I was so happy to have it :) ) so you'll know she isn't bald and naked all the time XD

Aster is so beautiful! The shirt is cute. :) I also loved the little sweater you made for her, and her pants, which fit her perfectly.

The yoga poses make me happy. <3 I'm so glad you're taking yoga - I think it's so good in every way.

You got a package in the mail on Saturday, and I put it on the table. Was that dolly stuff?

She's beautiful! In that wig, she looks eerily like Willow from BtVS, though. Joss Wheedon would be proud.
