I love recognizing actors!

[livejournal.com profile] _melisande_ kindly gave me her VHS tapes of Jeeves and Wooster when (I think) she got the DVDs, so we've popped them in this evening. We watched the cow creamer episode, since I'm reading it, and now we're watching the one where Jeeves leaves Wooster onnacounta all that trombone playing. And OMG, right there, the unhappy John Hector McFarlane! Playing, er. Chuffy? *giggles* Looking rather happier than he did in "The Norwood Builder".

As an aside, Jeeves and Wooster over noodle soup and grilled cheese are a rather amazing cure for a sore throat.

I love recognizing actors, too! There are some fun cross-overs from Fawlty Towers to Sherlock Holmes. Those really get me because the entire setting and genre are totally different!

Ooooh, I should watch some Fawlty Towers :) I do love John Cleese!

Yes, you definitely should. So quotable...

Yes! I admit, I didn't recognize Chuffy as t.U.J.H.M. when I watched Jeeves and Wooster, but the last time I went back to NORW I went "It's Chuffy!" You win the 'got it right the first time' prize :) It makes me so happy that you're watching it!

AND WE EVEN GET SICK AT THE SAME TIME. Synchronous squee and well-timed vacations are one thing, but now it's just becoming eerie, m'dear XD I'll see if sushi and Jooster have the same magical powers, or if the phenomenon is unique to grilled cheese and soup. Feel better!

I'd watched this one before, and I'm almost positive it was after the Holmes obsession set in, so it's not nearly as awesome as you think :D I noticed t.U.J.H.M. (abbreviation win!) the second time around, though!

Ahaha! XD I'm sorry you're sick too, but it is really quite incredible that we persist in matching up like this! I very much hope that the sushi and Jooster work for you :)

Yes, I love him as Chuffy! I also love Wodehousean names, they're so silly.

Hope you feel better soon!

They are the most hilarious names ever XD Augustus Fink-Nottle! I mean!

I feel a lot better today, thanks :)

That DOES sound like the best way ever to sit around and get over a cold/sore throat thing. :)

It was really nice! :)

Bingo Little (at least the first Bingo...I can't remember if his actor changes or not...I think not...) is the same actor as the crazy South African guy in The Solitary Cyclist.

And yes, I did just realize that you had written Holmes things that were not on Watson's Woes and am looking for them...

Hee! Yeah, a lot of my stuff isn't very woeful, so I don't post it there. Thanks for looking :)
