caitirin's anime opener meme! XD
1. Pick your top ten Anime openings
2. Find them on Youtube.
3. Post them in your LJ! Bonus points for saying why you like them and picking runners up.
Note: I'm doing my "top ten anime openings that aren't on Caitirin's list" XD Because she picked a lot of my favorites, strangely enough! Hee n_n
1. Tenshi ni Narumon (da mon!) - OMG Noelle is the cutest thing in the whole wide world T_T The actual version of this matches the animation even closer with the music.
2. Vision of Escaflowne - SO pretty. Look at that linework. Plus, it has Maaya Sakamoto, so how can you go wrong? I especially love the "happy Hitomi" leapy joy pose at the end.
3. Sailor Moon S - Opening with Haruka and Michiru - This is one of the very best Sailor Moon openings. Favorite bits include the hand and the butterflies near the end.
4. Ruin Explorers - I HAD to put this, because this was my very first anime that I loved! I watched this opener about a billion times. I couldn't find a version without the credits :\ Probably because it doesn't exist except on tape or something!
5. Weiss Kreuz - No No No Don't Cry (second opening) - XD The beginning is a little bit crap, but it's worth it for every shot with Schwarz in it. *swoons*
6. Sailor Moon Stars - A new themesong, OMG! Kotono Mitsuishi at her best. It's lovely. Super dorky note - the first two hands to clasp near the end are Usagi and Rei's <3Also, die die Seiya die
7. Record of Lodoss War OAV - Kiseki no Umi - I haven't seen much Lodoss War, much less the OAV (everyone I knew was into the other one, the one with Ashram and Pirotess) but this opening is GORGEOUS. I wish I had a better quality version of it. Maaya Sakamoto again, big surprise! Hair, wind, petals, Elaby go squeeeeee.
8. Sorcerer Hunters - Dorky anime, totally awesome opening song. They do a great job matching nifty things in the opening animation to the music, too (can you tell that's often my criteria for opening sequences that I love?)
9. Weiss Kreuz - Velvet Underworld (first opening). I was SO in love with this, particularly the bit at the end with the rose petals (despite the fact that it features Aya). It had to go on my list. This seems to have become "Elaby's favorite nostalgic anime openings" XD
10. Sailor Moon R - Second season 2 opening (the one with the clocks) This isn't the best Sailor Moon opening, but I just love the clocks at the beginning.
Bonus!
Sailor Moon S - Opening with all senshi, including Hotaru - This is almost identical to the other Sailor Moon S opening I have above, but it has Hotaru and Pluto and instead of the hand at the end (which I adore) it has the grail (almost as cool).
