dakegra says I have to! I don't want to be the only one on the bus LJ with no Prompt Gathering Post! We could call them PGPs or something.
So, in the words of Its Creator:

You can use Cai or Pele with Mei, if you want, sayscaitirin. Mei has various stages which it might be useful to compile here:
1600's-1750ish - Samurai class in Japan.
1750ish-1850ish - Masquerading as a boy in France, the first years working as a servant-type for a Marquise with whom she fell in love
1850ish-1900ish - Went back to Japan to take part in the Bakumatsu, fought on the Shogunate (losing) side
1900ish-now - Works for Mandala in America, an organization that rescues people who are being experimented upon by Evil Corporations etc.
1940's - Had relationship with blues bar singer
