Maim the bound journals
or burn them, for all I care.
I lack in pull slips.

The things are heavy
and caked with ages of dust.
They won't stand alone.

Even the strongest
among them always falls down,
crunching my fingers.

The racket they make
with those damn'd metal bookends
makes me want to scream.
