YOU WIN LIFE. And about a million internets. And an equal number of hugs, though frankly you were already entitled to a lifetime supply of hugs where I'm concerned. So transitive hugs, maybe? The next million hugs that anyone ('part from you, obviously) sends to me will be forwarded.

Yes! *dances* I wasn't totally insane talking about drawstrings! *phew* But lord, EVEN MORE BUTTONS. As though the word "button" didn't show up in every single sex scene I write about a JILLION times, between jackets, waistcoats, collars, cuffs, shirts, boots and trousers. The unusual challenges of writing pre-central-heating erotica are many and varied, but mostly can be summed up by BUTTONS. *headdesk*

Something you could also mention, which I know from [livejournal.com profile] rabidsamfan: those undershirts were, I believe, often partially visible. The collar, cuffs and shirtfronts--everything that you could see with a waistcoat and jacket on--were separate pieces, but if a man took off his jacket, those shirtsleeves would be the closest layer to his skin. I THINK. As previously stated, my ideas on all of this are tenuous at best, but that'd be why collars and cuffs were their own thing, to the best of my understanding.
